It is true. Wait a year for an MRI in the public system or you have at least two local choices for one within a week or so in Calgary, but the costs I am told can be from $300 to 730.
How can this be a bad thing? Unions, plus bureaucratic empire building and featherbedding , and incursions by Big Pharma, have immobilzed and de-incentivized the public sytem to where it is likely killing as many as it saves, and making life miserable for people on waiting lists. .
