Unfortunately for the Band, there was no way it could credibly backtrack from that media release once it realized its claim was false. Consequently, so as not to lose face, the Band has successfully stonewalled for over 5 years, refusing to excavate because excavation would decisively prove its claim that it had discovered ‘the remains of 215 children’ is false, and the Band doesn’t want to be held accountable for misleading the world.
