I always though this word, islamophobia, was just another of those terms like 'gender affirming care' , which is neither 'affirming' or 'care' as most people understand these words to mean, and which grossly misrepresent what is under discussion, in this example, genital mutilation.
As for 'islamophobia', what does that word mean? An irrational fear of Islam?
Safe here in Canada for the present at least, most folks do not 'hate' or even 'fear' Islam, but many have reservations about what they hear and see, as some also have concerns about Catholics, Evangelicals, Jehovah's Witnesses -- and atheists. Taken literally, they worry about what these beliefs carried to extremes might lead to.
As for irrational fear, what is irrational about being concerned that some Moslems take the most threatening and outdated passages in their holy book literally and that some actively use Islam to justify atrocities or that civic authorities often accommodate and protect Islam when at the same time refusing the same protections to other persuasions,
Who, even those of us with concerns about Sharia Law and excessive concessions to Islamic dictates, has the time to 'hate' Islam or our Moslem neighbours?
What would be a better, albeit less catchy term?
Islamowatcher?
Concerned Citizen?

Some of these things I still miss
I grew up without safe spaces.
I grew up without trigger warnings.
I drank water from the hose.
I ate peanuts in class.
None of us wore a helmet.
Kids got hurt. We fell down. And we signed a lot of casts.
We couldn’t pause TV. We’d call out “It’s on!” as soon as the commercials started to end (for those who had left the room). And we watched our favourite shows as a family.
There was no next day delivery.
There was no bundle this with that.
There was no internet. Skip the Dishes didn’t exist.
Fast food was not the norm. It was easier to eat healthy. There were home phones. There was VH.........
