We are thrilled to announce that the Citizens' Initiative petition for Alberta Independence, sponsored by Mitch Sylvestre, has been officially approved by Elections Alberta!

What does this mean? Under Alberta’s Citizens Initiative Act, if successful, this petition will spur the Alberta Government to hold a referendum on Alberta Independence. Mitch’s team can begin registering canvassers and collecting signatures from eligible voters across Alberta on January 2, 2026.
Here’s how you can be part of this exciting movement:

Spread the word. Let your friends, family, and community know that Mitch’s team will be ready to accept signatures the first week of January.
Stay informed. Mitch Sylvestre will be launching a petition campaign website before the end of the year. It will include signing locations, volunteer information, and more!
