Repeated Acetaminophen Use May Not Be as Safe as Previously Thought

In a study of people aged 65 and older, regular usage of acetaminophen was linked to heart failure, kidney problems, ulcers, and other issues.

I've never been a fan of acetaminophen and always had a preference for aspirin even knowing of aspirin's downsides. Was the promotion of acetaminophen at the time just another one of those promotions of a patented product over a generic?
