So, I’ve been monitoring WS for comments on articles ever since they came out with this little nugget a couple of weeks ago:
“Due to a high level of spam content being posted in our comment section below, all comments undergo manual approval by a staff member during regular business hours (Monday - Friday). Your patience is appreciated.”
Either people have given up posting comments or nothing is getting past their censors under the guise of verifying for spam. I’ve posted a comment on several articles but if I go back to the main page then back into the article, my comment has disappeared, supposedly for verification, but I’ve gone back a few days to previous articles I’ve posted on and…nada. NO ONE’S comments are there. I’m pretty darn sure a lot of the commenters I used to read are not spam and I know for sure I’m not!
Who or what is doing the checking? Real people? AI? The Ottawa masters? Was that part of the deal for getting taxpayer dollars? My trust in so much is ...
