With the country in shambles and its citizens hopeless, Milei took charge. He took his signature “chainsaw” approach to public spending and the bureaucracy. Milei eliminated 10 of 18 government ministries, capped the salaries of top bureaucrats and held public sector pensions, fired 34,000 (16 per cent) of government employees, and cut spending by 30 percent. These brutal cost-cutting measures resulted in budgetary surpluses in the first month of his term of office – and for every month since.

With Milei’s direction, the country has unharnessed its rich oil fields and, last year Argentina exported more energy than it imported for the first time in 14 years. It is now on track to yield one million barrels of oil per day by 2030. This would bring in more than $30 billion into Argentina annually and create a half a million jobs in the next five years. Milei refers to the country’s shale oil reserves as a “panacea” and is encouraging greater energy exports by funding big infrastructure investments in new pipelines that will take oil to tidewater and to a new deep water port. The near-term vision is to develop exports of LNG to the Asian market.

Listening to Ganum and they were discussing Pierre being done and guy phoned in to say good old Dougie would be next leader as he is more likeable. I almost lost my breakfast. Another thought Kenney but apparently women don't like him. This country is so F***ed!

The kids missed 3 weeks of school thanks to the ATA's strike and now 3 school days off. They were so concerned about all the learning kids were missing and then this. Today is a professional development day for teachers or should we call it what it really is - indoctrination day! It is utter BS!
