A comment from Garth Turners blog that I have been reading for years.
While everyone is counting their money, here is some words from the young Canadians struggling to come up with a reason to live and work here.
“What’s the point living here?
I am a young person born and raised in Ontario.
Maybe 5 years ago myself and all my friends had 0% chance of ever living elsewhere and now all of us are eyeing America. All of us have decent enough white collar jobs.
All of us would rather fight for the US if WW3 broke out. I would feel like a traitor fighting “for Canada”.
What is Canada anymore? Not what I was born into and raised in.
Every decision this country has made has made my life harder EVERY single year. I work hard everyday, got my first job at 14 at timmies, saved money, went to school, got educated, and now I won’t be able to afford my own home, my own piece of land…
What’s the point in staying here?
Who turned Canada into a tax farm?”
“Canada is a scam POS place to live now. Full of greed.
The world is taking advantage of our lax immigration laws, immigrants coming here are multiplying like gremlins destroying our health care and available jobs.
People glorify real estate and think it’s a good thing for it to go up faster than the rate of inflation.
The scam government controls supply and demand of real estate by turning up and down the immigration taps.
Canada no longer receives my business, no gifts, no eating out, no tipping, etc….”
“I am grooming my adult kids to leave; I’m leaving. Canada has changed from a place for educated immigrants to a place for desperate refugees/asylum seekers. We are following Frances model. Wich means taxes go way, way up and riots and chaos go up with them.
What the frak do you think is gonna happen when 4 or 5 hundred thousand brown dudes in one city are freezing and hungry and have no work?
So Canada is great…. if you’re looking for a free ride on the tax payer dollar. If you’re trying to build wealth? Go south.”

WASHINGTON — A former senior U.S. intelligence official has concluded that an “unprecedented crime convergence” is underway across Canada, involving nearly 700 organized crime groups operating in strategic cooperation and networked into 48 countries—amid virtually no coordinated national response from Ottawa—resulting in potentially hundreds of billions of dollars laundered in the country each year.
Beyond this groundbreaking assessment of the scale of drug money laundering through Canada, the Washington-based expert finds that these expanding criminal operations were accelerated and empowered by the Liberal government’s 2016 decision to drop visa requirements for Mexico.
The hard-hitting study, produced by David M. Luna through the International Coalition Against Illicit Economies, asserts that U.S. government assessments on Canada’s growing role as a transnational hub of poly-narcotics production, trafficking, and—more importantly—money laundering are more detailed and plausible than Ottawa’s own data releases.
The consequence has been ...
